Welcome to Sandy Point Wilderness Lodge
Northern Culture, Traditions and Adventure

Your adventure begins in Yellowknife where the northern frontier spirit comes together with the indigenous people and their traditions. Denendeh is the land of the Dene people who inhabited the North Slave Region of the Northwest Territories long before the trappers and prospectors of the 20th century.

A thirty minute bush plane flight on floats or skis brings you 100km north east of Yellowknife to a sheltered bay on Gordon Lake (Hom’iiti). The pristine clear blue water is surrounded by the rock of the Canadian Shield with sub-arctic boreal forest continuing to the treeline and the Arctic tundra less than 50 km to the north. The lodge is named for the sandy eskers left behind after the last ice age which created the truly amazing geological beauty of the lake and land.

Imagine a soul-nourishing northern wilderness experience and you find it at Sandy Point Wilderness Lodge.
