Lake Trout caught by Mary Bieber

Sandy Point Lodge is on Gordon Lake, which is situated northeast of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories on the rocky and rugged Canadian Shield. Gordon Lake is one of the lakes on the winter ice road to the diamond mines. We are only accessible by float plane in the summer.

Our packages include picking you up at the Yellowknife airport and transporting you to the float plane docks of Great Slave Lake; from there we take off in a Cessna 185, a turbo Beaver, a Cessna Caravan, DeHavilland Turbo Otter or Twin Otter, depending on the size of your group.

We land on Gordon Lake after a scenic half hour flight. With the long sunny days of summer you can get settled in your cabin, then head out on the 50 km long lake right away. When you return we will feed you a delicious meal and you can really begin to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

For the duration of your stay, it will be just the lodge guests on the entire lake to explore, fish, eat and relax. You will truly enjoy our little corner in the boreal wilderness.

First taste of lake fishing and Canadian hospitality. Both Brilliant! Will be back. - Kieth Dunmore, Bermuda, June 27, 2007

We wanted to send you a short note to acknowledge the tremendous time just past. It was our privilege to spend Labour Day weekend at your wonderful facility on Gordon Lake and it will be for us a treasured memory.

The spectacular setting, the cosy cabins, fabulous cuisine, friendly staff, accommodating guides (Courtney was a stand out in our books) and ouf course the fish all of which contributed to a delightful time. We especially enjoyed the shore lunches and the cheerful comraderie between guests and help. WE felt more like family than guests and we both wished we could stay a bit longer. Thank you so much for making a wonderful memory for us! -
